Some Testimonials From Previous Weddings

From Pamela & Leo

"Simon is amazing, the nicest guy you could meet as well as a wonderful photographer. We got married in May 2018 in The Glenview Hotel, although we had spoken on the phone, we hadn't met, all my guests said "where did you find him, he is fantastic", he knew exactly what he was doing and didn't leave until he knew he had every shot to capture our perfect day. I would highly recommend him, he made our day!"

From Gill & Danny

"We can’t thank Simon enough we love our wedding photos. He captured our day perfectly. He fitted into our wedding so well and this lead to him capturing those natural moments between us and our loved ones. He is a true professional all we can say is thank you Simon."

Are you are looking for a photographer for your wedding day?

The choice can be overwhelming as there are many excellent photographers in Ireland. All have their own unique style and approach.

On your wedding day there will be a lot going on and feeling you have to perform or act in a certain way for the photographer is stress you probably can live without.

Although lots of couples still have a church wedding now there is a whole variety of venues for your special day. This can add to the variety and style of your wedding that will be reflected in your wedding photographs.

I provide a relaxed fly on the wall style of photography for your wedding day. Most people are not used to being in front of a camera all day and it can be quite intimidating so it is important your photographer makes you feel at ease. Often the best images can be the natural ones capturing a moment where people are unaware a photograph is taken.

All weddings are unique as couples have gone through hundreds if not thousands of decisions to plan their day. As a photographer you only have one chance to capture it. It is important to be able to anticipate situations in order to get in the right position for the next shot. Be aware where the light is coming from and how it affects the image you are taking.

As a photographer you have to make sure you have the right settings on the camera. Is the aperture and shutter speed correct. Small differences in these settings can totally change to look of a photograph. Do you need a wide angle, prime or zoom lens? These are all the decisions a professional photographer will instinctively make based on their experience. Decisions thankfully the happy couple don't have to worry about on their wedding day.

I always believe a photographer should have a wide variety of experience as it will make you versatile in different situations. Working as a photographer for a local newspaper group it constantly amazes me the different situations that I am asked to provide photographs for. Each has it's own challenges. In the morning you could be photographing the Taoiseach visiting a school, in the afternoon you might be at a charity fundraiser and in the evening photographing a GAA match.

Having a wide variety of photography experience also allows each situation to be fresh and new. This allows you to be as enthusiastic about each new project. I believe that if you were photographing the same type of situation all the time your approach could become stale and tired.

Before your wedding I would consult with you to discuss your requirements and help tailor a package to your needs. I always try to provide a competitive quote for you. If your wedding is on during the week from Monday to Thursday I will add in an additional discount to your wedding package.

Even though the recession thankfully is behind us a lot of people are still working to a tight budget and have to make sure they spend their money wisely. Couples can spend a lot of money on their wedding as it is an important day and the start of the rest of their lives together but as we all know other expenses can mount up quite quickly.
If a package is agreed I would send you a short booking form to outline all the details discussed and a small deposit will secure your date.

In the run up to your wedding day I will always stay in touch just to see if there are any last minute changes and to reassure you the photography end of things is under control.

During your Wedding Day I capture events as they happen without interrupting the proceedings especially during the ceremony. If you want any group photos or images of any details these can be arranged as required. After the ceremony I will capture your guests relaxing and enjoying your day.

After your wedding it normally takes 6-8 weeks to process and edit your photographs. This is the most time consuming part of the process and can't be rushed. Even with the most modern technology each photograph has to be selected and individually edited. Quite often I will have up to 1000 photographs from a wedding. These are then brought down to approximately 250 - 350 images for the couple. It is best to do this over several days as it requires fresh eyes every time you look and edit an image.
After the images are selected and edited and presented to the couple it is always possible small changes can be made. Quite often images presented in black and white may be requested in color as well or visa versa. It is often individual preference and taste whether color or black and white is preferred.

As a photographer I would present images in black and white for a variety of reasons but that doesn't mean a color version isn't just as good a photograph.

After you have seen the images from your wedding day I always think this is the point to consider compiling a wedding album or purchasing prints. Parents may also want a mini album to remember the occasion. I can help guide you through these decisions. All images are cropped for standard size frames and prints so if you decide to frame any images you will not lose any of the image when it is printed.
